'Double Exposure' was a compilation album assembled by Steven Wilson in 1986 to promote various musical projects, including his own. The album had a short pressing run and was soon deleted. It was a follow up to the similar 'Exposure' compilation. Other contributing artists included Anthony Phillips, Haze, Geoff Mann, Mazlyn Jones and Tim's pre-No-Man band Plenty.
Faith's Last Doubt was one of the first two tracks Steven and Tim recorded together, and can be considered one of the first true No-Man songs (although the band was still called No Man Is An Island at that stage). It's a dark and moody ballad showing strong influences of Japan and Peter Hamill (fretless bass and dramatic, stylised vocal) with a full-blooded rock guitar solo and African slot-drum loop - the polar opposite of the other track recorded in the same session (Screaming Head Eternal). Several of Steven's instrumental contributions were listed under various ridiculous pseudonyms; as was that of Nigel Childs (lead guitarist from '80s AOR band Pride Of Passion).
