steven wilson with altamont

Altamont was one of Steven's early projects - a psychedelic/ dark-electronica duo of himself and keyboard player Simon Vockings. The project was heavily influenced by early '70s German electronic music, particularly the rhythm-and-sequencer-free early Tangerine Dream and Klaus Schulze material created between 1970 and 1973.
Altamont made several recordings in 1983 (when Steven was 15 years old). Some of these were briefly made available again on a limited-edition vinyl album (also called 'Altamont'), which was released on Headphone Dust in 2002. This contained Steven's own selections from the hours of Altamont recordings.
